Why do people schedule Friday afternoon meetings?

Let me just vent for a moment on this. I spend my whole week avoiding work of any kind, delegating everything to someone else, managing back, over, and up, clearing my schedule to make time to juggle the users in my pool--do I really need to spend an hour in an afternoon meeting on Friday to engage in a discussion about a project we're only planning but will never implement?

And while we're on the subject, why do people schedule 1:00 meetings? How am I supposed to get to lunch by noon with one of my users, order my meal, enjoy my meal, then fumble around in a car in the parking lot with my user, straighten my clothes and hair afterwards, share a few meaningless words with my user to pretend it wasn't as cheap and dirty as it really was, then get back to the office by 1:00 for the meeting? I need, at minimum, an hour and a half at lunch for that sort of thing.

And one more item: why do people schedule meetings before 9:00 in the morning? I don't care if the East Coast starts their day three hours before we do. That's not my problem.

Okay, got that off my chest. I think I'll leave early today to make up for it. Blair wants to go to the park and make out in a tree. That way I can get something off her chest, too.
