I love the half-day before Thanksgiving because Mulhausen always forces me to work a full day.

The company issued an email at about 10:00 am this morning stating that today would officially be a half-day. The company always does this the day before every major holiday. There's no policy that states employees are entitled to a half day before every major holiday, but you can still count on it every time. Unfortunately for some, the email also includes the clause, "with your manager's approval".

Mulhausen loves this clause because he loves to use it against me. I love that he loves this clause and loves to use it against me because it benefits me.

"Since you support Finance, you need to be here if they're here," he always says. "If they go home early, you can go home early."

He says this because he knows that Finance will not go home early. However, I know Finance will go home early because Blair is Finance.  And even though Kornfeld is also Finance and will definitely not be going home early, he will not require system support because he does not know how to use the system. The only Finance person who complains about the system is Blair, and Blair will be plenty busy.

Mulhausen will go home early because he doesn't know how to support the system. Because of Mulhausen, I will be forced to work a full day, so my wife will not expect me home early. Blair's husband will not come home early because he is also in Finance at another company and they will be working a full day too. Kornfeld will not want Blair to go home early until she complains about premenstrual craps, at which point he will gladly send her home early and suggest she also take Friday off.

Blair and I will skip lunch, go to her place, knock a couple out between the sheets and I'll be out and on the road by 4:00.

This is why I love the half-day before Thanksgiving. Because I always get to work a full day.

So you like half days because it gives you an opportunity to cheat on your wife, or am I misreading?

Not so much that I can cheat on my wife; more so that Blair can cheat on her husband.

I know I've said this at least once (I think...) but I love you.
